ANDREW
Store Director
After teaching high school music in Blackfoot, ID, Andrew returned home to Sitka representing the 4th generation of family involvement at Hames Corporation. His first job was bagging groceries at Sea Mart when he was 11 years old, and over the years has also worked as a cashier, and a clerk in the Video, Meat, Grocery, Night Crew, Produce, Point of Sale, and Frozen Food departments. He enjoys working with a dedicated team of people to provide a welcoming place for the community to shop. In his spare time, Andrew is grateful for opportunities to be involved with music projects whenever he can.
KADIN
Pricing Coordinator
One of the longest serving members of the management team, Kadin has seen plenty of changes at Sea Mart over the last 11 years. He began his time at our store working in the Food Court and Produce department, but eventually found his calling in the Point of Sale department, utilizing his technical wizardry to support and maintain the integrity of the store’s extensive database. Kadin has been instrumental in facilitating the growth of the POS department to oversee four store operations, and he enjoys the challenge of solving technical problems through patterns and procedures, and can manipulate spreadsheets with the best of them!
BLANCA
Advertising Coordinator
Blanca began working at Sea Mart in 2009 as a clerk in the Grocery department. Over the next couple of years, she also worked in the Health and Beauty and Bakery departments before developing her skills in the Point-of-Sale (POS) department where she oversees all of the ad writing for Sea Mart and Market Center. Blanca enjoys the opportunity to continue to develop her graphic design skills on the job, and loves planning exciting sales and promotions at Sea Mart.
JOY
Front End Manager
Joy is the manager of what is often the busiest department in the store: the Front End! Not only is it an active department, it is also the largest in the store, and Joy leads a team of over 30 people of all ages. Starting as a cashier herself, she eventually worked her way up to the management position and enjoys assisting and making customers happy with an efficient and friendly check-out process. Joy loves to travel when she can and enjoys spending time with her family.
RICH
Grocery Supervisor
Rich joined the Sea Mart crew in 2015 and brought an extensive background in retail sales along with him. Rich helps to oversee the Grocery, Dairy, and Frozen Food departments, and does an excellent job directing traffic in the busy Sea Mart warehouse. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time outdoors in the beauty of Southeast Alaska, but when he is at work, he enjoys working with his fellow coworkers, and takes pride in building good customer relations and assisting our customers however he can!
HARRY
Dairy and Frozen Foods Manager
Often sighted bundled up in the back section of our store, Harry is the manager of our Dairy and Frozen Foods departments! He and his crew work hard every day to bring fresh dairy (and non-dairy) products to our chilled cases, as well as stocking a wide variety of items for your freezer at home. Harry loves to take the time to chat with our customers, especially if the conversation is sports-related! His favorite thing about Sea Mart is working with the great team of people and encouraging them to meet the needs of our customers.
TED
Meat Department
Are you wondering what’s for dinner? Look no further than our Meat Manager, Ted. He is always willing to help you answer that question and is happy to lend his 25 years of chef experience to help you come up with an exciting answer. When asked what his favorite thing about Sea Mart is, Ted said, “it is an honor to get to be part of a customer’s every-day decisions regarding the food they serve in their home. We get invited to be part of their holiday traditions by providing what they need to make their meal a memorable and special occasion.”
ERICK
Produce Department
Beginning as a Produce Clerk after first arriving in Sitka seven years ago, Erick’s knowledge and experience grew over the years and he is now the manager of the department! Erick describes his job at Sea Mart “almost like another home for us,” and he takes pride in working together with his produce team and extended co-workers. Recognizing the importance of a fresh variety of produce in our store, Erick loves hearing feedback from customers, and is happy to help you find what you need from his department. When he is not at work, Erick loves all things basketball, and spending time with his wife and kids.
TWILA
HABA (Health and Beauty Aids)/GM (General Merchandise) Department
After a period away, Twila rejoined the Sea Mart crew on the Front End in 2019, and eventually made her way to the HABA/GM department where she was promoted to manager! One of the most diverse departments in the store, Twila loves finding exciting items for your home, kitchen, or bathroom. Her favorite thing about Sea Mart is the unrivaled parking lot view, and in her spare time she enjoys making soap and loving on her cat.
WENDY
Bakery and Deli Manager
Joining our team in 2020, Wendy brings over 40 years of chef experience to our Bakery and Service Deli departments. After an exciting career working with diverse kitchen crews all around the state of Alaska, Wendy made her way to Sitka, and is excited to bring a fresh perspective to our offerings in these departments. She takes pride in safety on the job and strives to deliver excellence in customer service with beautiful presentations of quality products. She describes herself as “a total pet person,” and is an avowed jet-ski and snow machine enthusiast!
